How long have you been in business?
We been serving our dessert-lovin' family since 2007.
What is your primary product or service?
Southern Cakes, Liqueur Cakes, Cake Balls and Gourmet Desserts. Made from scratch, Baked-to-Order, and shipped across the USA.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Out of the need to re-career, I felt it important and this stage in my life to pursue something I genuinely enjoyed. It wasn't about making a lot of money, it was about celebrating life, and bringing a small "piece" of enjoyment into the lives of others. I didn't know how cakes on the internet would do from a business perspective, but I did quickly realize that there weren't many companies out there in cyberspace.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I wanted the business to offer something more than a "cake in the mail". Southern Cakes is what I know because of my heritage. But to take it even further, educationally, entertainingly, we research and only use original recipes, include "history tags" about the original of the cake, and of course, we only bake from scratch.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We are currently an Online Dessert Cafe. We're looking forward to open our 1st physical location here in Las Vegas, NV.

Because we are online, we can serve our customers across the USA. Also, we bake-to-order, so there are no cakes and desserts sitting on a shelf waiting for a customer to order.
What type of payments do you accept?
We currently accept Google CheckOut, PayPal, Master Card, Visa and Amex.

Lysa Jenkins is the Head Baker and Chocolatier.
